I am an undergraduate in Singapore who loves to DIY. I created this blog because I think most of the line-out docks (LOD) between the iPod and our amps are overpriced. After I decided to make my own LODs, the idea was carried a bit further by my friend who said, “why not share the information you have and the LODs you made with the public?”.
And PureTones Audio is born.
I named it PureTones Audio because I hope my cables will be what it is suppose to be, transmit sound as it is without adulteration. Actually I wanted PureTones as the full name, but that name is no longer available on Gmail. Hence I settled for PureTones Audio.
I will post pictures and guides on how to make LODs, where to get the materials, what to take note of, and if I made spares, affordable and high quality LODs for those who are anxious to get to their music.
My LODs are not meant to be a serious competitor to commercially available ones. Although i uses top notch materials (and top notch workmanship), the commercial ones provide 1 year warranty, and i don’t (unless for a fee). I have limited time (still in school), and i can at most make a dozen every month. However I think my LODs are good alternatives until someone decides to spurge on an Ultimate link or ALO connector.
I should make my secondary intention clear too. Well anyone who cares to read my blog will know, when you got “hooked”, its very hard for you to stop. From starting PureTones I hope I can make some allowance to contribute to my ACS-T2 fund.
Enough said, I hope this blog will become the ultimate source of information for anyone who wants to DIY LODs, and in the mean time, a great source of affordable LODs for all poor students like me who fell into the sound trap.
I love my TF-10
